Two Smoothie Recipes

Good morning!

I never thought I could get behind a smoothie as a meal, I mean, I like to eat my food not drink it, but I have rapidly proven myself wrong.  A few weeks ago, I started having food for breakfast and a smoothie for lunch (along with some almonds for added protein), and it’s working out so well, I decided to start varying what I put into the smoothies….just so I don’t get bored with the same ol’ thing.

These are not groundbreaking/new recipes, but they are to me and I’m just so thrilled I enjoyed them so much!

First up, I took out the blueberries and added peaches!  I made a peach-strawberry-banana smoothie with soy milk and cherry berry juice…I after the berry juice is finished, I have some carrot-orange juice I’m going to sub in.

It turns out it makes the prettiest pink smoothie, which happens to also be delicious.

Recipe:

8 oz frozen peaches
8 oz frozen strawberries
2 bananas
8 oz cherry berry juice
8 oz unsweetened plain soy milk

Put all ingredients in a blender and combine until smooth.  This makes about two 16 oz (give or take and ounce).

Next, I did something I never thought I would do and thought would be totally disgusting:  I added spinach to the berry smoothie.  I was pleasantly surprised it was very tasty, the blueberries do a good job in masking the spinach.
